Lepakshi Temple

Lepakshi temple in Andhra Pradesh is one of the most famous temples in South India. This temple is built by the Vijayanagar Empire during the time period between (1336–1646). This temple is famous for mural paintings and Kannada inscriptions which are unique to this temple. Also, there is large Nandi made up of granite.

Viranna and Virupanna were the kings built this temple, dedicated to Veerabhadra hence the name Veerabhadra  Lepakshi Temple. This temple is a good example of Vijayanagar architectural style. The main attractions of this temple are Vastu Purusha, Durga Paadam, the hanging pillar and the eyes of Viroopaakshanna.
